Kentwood General Information
Kentwood is a city in Kent County in the U.S. state of Michigan (49508 & 49512). The population was 45,255 at the 2000 census. The city was originally formed as Paris Township in 1839. It incorporated as a city in 1967 to prevent further annexation of land from the cities of Grand Rapids and Wyoming.
Kentwood offers a wide variety of of shopping, services and attractions. Kentwood continues to grow and Kentwood real estate offers residential and condo communities for every price range.

BOWEN STATION PARK: (Bowen Ave. south of 44th St. just east of Kalamazoo)
Located at the head of of the Paul Henry/Thornapple Trail featuring children’s play areas, restrooms and picnic tables. St the south end is located an historical “cattle crossing” that the Bowen family used to allow passage of their cattle for grazing. Parking is available.
EAST PARIS NATURE PARK: (northwest corner of 60th and East Paris Ave)
Visit this pristine natural area and take advantage of the walking trails in and around water retention ponds. Shelter is provided for picnics and viewing nature and two fishing/nature decks are accessible from the parkways. The Paul Henry trail will have future access to this area.
KELLOGWOODS PARK: (just east of Division and 54th Street)
Kentwood’s largest sports facility complex featuring 2 softball fields, roller hockey, tennis, soccer and baseball field. Children’s play equipment, restrooms and picnic facilities are available.
OLD FARM PARK: (End of Embro east of Stauffer)
Located on Old Farm Estates this park has children’s playground, restrooms and picnic facilities and features Tennis and basketball courts.
VETERANS PARK: (located between Division and Eastern on 48th St)
15 acres of fun! Veterans park has activities for everyone. Walk, Jog or Rollerblade or play basketball, soccer or volleyball. Also features a climbing wall and ship play structure.
